All good things must come to an end.

Steeplechase racing at Saratoga concludes with a condition handicap over 9 jumps around 5 turns.

With COVID-19 restrictions, we know things can change however there are a couple of race meets in September that will allow spectators. On Saturday September 12 at 12:00 noon, Virginia Point to Point Association will have a meet at Old Dominion, Ben Venue VA featuring 9 races. Charlie Fenwick will have 6 races at Shawan Downs in Cockeysville, MD on Saturday September 26, 2020 at 1:00pm. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for the remaining fall meets.

Rosbrian Farm owner George Mahoney pulled his 8 horses from trainer Ricky Hendriks after Optimus Prime pulled a suspensory ligament in the NY Turf Writers Cup and had to be retired.

A condition handicap with horses rated 130 or less is featured today. Big thanks to NYRA for rescheduling the race from Thursday. The ratings are reflected in the weight assignments.

At this point of the meet, the best thing to do is compare who beat who or who ran against the best during the meet and ignore the weight assignments.

#6 Bodes Well lost to the most dominate runner of the meet Snap Decision by only 2 lengths. The front runner will try to take them coast to coast.

#2 Iranistan beat 5 of the 9 runners on August 13th and figures to run off #6 Bodes Well’s shoulder and kick home strong after the last fence.

#8 Go Get the Basil ran well at Great Meadow June 27th defeating Court Ruler who won next out at Saratoga on August 12th.

Thanks to everyone for reading and reviewing the steeplechase selections during the meet. Hope to see you at a race meet this fall or next year!

Good Luck at the races!
