SARATOGA – 9/2/2020
Nick Tammaro ~ @NTamm1215
Race 2- | 1st #5 MADAM DEPUTY | 2ND #6 HEY IT’S TATI | 3RD #2 BUFFET |
#5 MADAM DEPUTY is first off a claim by Rudy Rodriguez, who is an astonishing 50% with maidens on dirt first off of claims ($4.14 ROI). #6 HEY IT’S TATI is the one to beat based on her dirt debut and should be in front of this field early.
Race 3- | 1st #2 DEMOCRATIC VALUES | 2ND #4 NASHVILLE | 3RD #1 SEARING CHASE |
#2 DEMOCRATIC VALUES returns off a lengthy layoff after showing little on debut when on the wrong part of the racetrack. He faces a salty field today but has trained well for the return. #4 NASHVILLE is the likely favorite based on his spritely worktab and the fact that his trainer is as good as they come with first timers.
Race 4- | 1ST #5 TWELFTH LABOUR | 2ND #1A BAD GUY | 3RD #9 MALTHAEL |
#5 TWELFTH LABOUR was the pick on turf but has run races on dirt that would win this thing. He is a late running type who’ll get some pace in front of him and the distance is ideal. #1A BAD GUY ran a bang-up race against cheap N2L claimers in his last dirt try and can be a late threat today.
Race 5- | 1st #2 ROYAL SUSPECT | 2ND #1 RINGGOOD | 3RD #5 BRUNATE |
#2 ROYAL SUSPECT is facing considerably weaker than he has in recent starts and he can be involved early in this spot. There’s not an abundance of speed in this spot and that works to his advantage. #1 RINGGOOD ran well in his lone dirt try and is a threat second off the bench at a square price.
Race 6- | 1st #12 CITY TEMPER | 2ND #10 QUASAR | 3RD #9 STUNNING MUNNINGS |
#12 CITY TEMPER wired the field in her maiden win way back in January and is the one to catch in here. She has shown serious early speed in two prior starts and towers over the field taken off the turf. #10 QUASAR is more accomplished on dirt and should be in position to stalk City Temper. Her maiden win was strong enough to win this race.
Race 7- | 1ST #1 UNRIGHTEOUS | 2ND #6 COWTOWN | 3RD #4 BLUEGRASS PARKWAY |
#1 UNRIGHTEOUS is simply better than these horses in a race taken off the turf and is the one to beat. He has the tactical speed to stay close and is a single in the Pick 5. #6 COWTOWN is the other potential winner on paper and hails from the same barn as the top pick. His lack of early speed is a concern.
Race 8- | 1ST #5 OUR LAST BUCK | 2ND #4 EVALUATOR | 3RD #3 CONTROL GROUP |
#5 OUR LAST BUCK is strictly the one to beat and moves up on a wet surface. He is perfectly capable of rating just off the pace and will be the second choice in here. #4 EVALUATOR is a late runner who goes 2nd off a layoff for trainer H. James Bond. He will benefit if the pace heats up and that is a fair possibility.
Race 9- | 1ST #1 BLAME THE BOOZE | 2ND #4 WINFROMWITHIN | 3RD #3 ZIPPY BABY |
#1 BLAME THE BOOZE is the one to catch for trainer Wesley Ward off a strong debut effort. #4 WINFROMWITHIN landed in a salty MSW event last time and should be just outside the pacesetter this afternoon in the early stages.
Race 10- | 1ST #16 PIER FORTY | 2ND #15 TRUE PALACE | 3RD #7 DIANNESIMPAZIBLE |
#16 PIER FORTY goes out for the red hot Orlando Noda barn and everything this barn has started is rocking and rolling. All aboard! #15 TRUE PALACE has run two improved races on dirt in his most recent pair of starts and will offer value once again today.
